 | |  | | Hi everybody! My name is Issabella, and I was born in a puppy mill. My dad bought me from a pet store to give to my momma; he didn't know any better. I got really sick right after I came home, so my momma investigated the place where I was born, and found out that it was a puppy mill. She was very sad, but loves me anyway.
I'm just two years old, but I already have grade 3 luxating patellas in two knees. I'm also very "shy-sharp" around other dogs; I just can't stop feeling like they're going to hurt me! Momma tries to help me the best way she can, and she likes to talk to other Eskie owners to help understand me. They say that lots of Eskies born in puppy mills are like me.
Well, a few months ago, my momma joined a group called "Heart Bandits." She says they rescue dogs like me! I thought that was great. Momma built them a website, and she writes their news updates, too.
Then, last week, momma was gone for hours and hours. When she came home, she was crying and she smelled like sickness. I tried my best to make her feel better, but every time I licked her tears away, she cried more and more.
My momma explained to me that she went to the place where I was born, and that she and her friends rescued 41 dogs from that place. It was very dirty, and all the dogs were very afraid. The dogs were all very sick. She said that she met my doggy parents, but that she couldn't save my doggy daddy. That made her sad.
Now, all 41 dogs are at the veterinarian, getting better. Lots are testing positive for heart worms, but momma says they can be cured!
