I tried this recipe that Scooter posted. The only thing I changes was I used broth from a beef roast that I had cooked the day before instead of boullion. I give it 5 paws upway to go=FRENCH ONION SOUP
Butter, 3 T
Onion, sliced, 2 C
Beef Bouillon, 4 1/2 C
Salt and Pepper,
Worcestershire sauce
French bread or croutons
Parmesean or other finely grated cheese

Heat butter in large skillet; add onions; simmer about 10 minutes until soft and ligfhtly browned

Add bouillon; bring to boil, simmer about 20 minutes

Season to taste with salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce

Pour hot soup into marmites or soup plates

On top of each serving, float a slice of sauteed French bread or croutons, Sprinkle with grated cheese and serve.

Makes 6 servings

I also made this one and I must say it was perfect just the way it is! Thanks to chef Rooster mom is now hooked on thisbig laughbig laughlaugh out loud Salsa Verde Chicken
1 whole fryer cut up (4 pounds is good)
1 pkg taco seasoning mix
1 tbsp olive oil
1 16 oz jar green salsa
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
sour cream and chopped green onions for garnish

You will need a large skillet. Heat oil med high heat. You will sprinkle taco seasoning over each peice of chicken, both sides. Place skin side down and cook until browned on one side. Drain excess oil from pan. You will pour salsa over chicken and cover, reduce heat to medium and cook until done 20 to 25 minutes. Juices will be clear and check with meat thermometer to be sure.
Now sprinkle cheese over chicken, cover again with lid and cook 1 or 2 minutes till cheese melts. Transfer chicken to serving plate, spoon salsa from pan over chicken and serve over rice of your choice and dollop with sour cream and sprinkle with green onions. Enjoy! I do love preparing this dish.

As Top Chef of this week, this is my choice and I must say it is pawsome and a two thumbs up from the pawrents! They love dill! This one comes from Hazel Lucy and we didn't change a thing. It's scrumptious!

Dilly Bread

1 pkg. dry yeast
1/4 c. warm water
1 c.creamed cottage cheese
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp.instant minced onion
1 egg
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 Tbsp. butter
2 Tbsp. dill seed
2 1/4 c. flour

Mix yeast and warm water. Combine remaining ingredients, except flour, and mix. Add 1/2 of flour and all of yeast/water mixture. When mixed, add the rest of the flour and knead 5-10 minutes. Let rise until doubled in size. Form round loaf. Bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes.

Thank you Hazel Lucy! It's wonderpurr!
