Logan recently turned 1year old and now started peeing on the curtains and only the curtains. We've tried washing them over and over and using pet products that are supposed to keep them away from the area. We also tried reprimanding and positive training. Nothing seems to be working. Any suggestions??

Has Logan been neutered?

It could be a marking behavior. Lots of boy doggies do that . Myself included.

A couple years ago, I started peeing in the house in really weird & inappropriate places, like on mom's clothes, if she took them off and threw them on the floor.

The first thing she read was to take me to the dogtor to rule out a Urinary Tract Infection.

Sure enough, I had crystals in my urine, which can be very painful the doctor said, like tinkling razor blades - so I was trying to tell Mama there was something wrong with me. I had to be treated with antibiotics and eat a special dog food for dog's with UTIs for awhile. Crystals in the urine and blockages with stones are very common in Scotties, according to our dogtor.

Has Logan been drinking more water than usual? Does he try to tinkle sometimes but nothing comes out? Does he have very strong smelling urine? You should probably call your vet and ask for his opinion.

If it is a behavior issue, with marking, we heard neutering could help. But I had my big boy surgery when I was 7 months old. And I still mark in the house on occasion, much to my Mama's chagrin.

Good to see you again Logan! Good luck, and I hope you're not sick!
