Winter wear?

It's starting to get cold here now, and this winter will be the first that I've had Kit.

Do other pappy owners do anything special to keep their dogs warm during cold winter walks? I was thinking that I should invest in some kind of jacket or something to put on him to help keep him warm when it gets really cold. Maybe if I start getting him use to it now he won't mind wearing it by the time it gets really cold. How cold does it need to get before it will start to bother him?? Any recommendations for what I should get him??

Both mine wear coats in the winter and I have booties for them as well. Its been in the 60's here and today high 50's but windy and cold feeling. Mine for that type of fall weather have light jackets and sometimes sweater. I also have rain coats for them to. Keeps their hair from getting damp and icky when walked in drizzle. I hate that crimped wet look bol! Yes Daisy has lots of coats. I lost count maybe 10 or so. That includes light jackets and some sweaters as well for spring/fall. Boston has 5 or 6 I think. I like Pet Edge because they have some nice warm coats for nice prices. Sometimes Pet Smart has some decent ones but they are rather expensive especially for one thats tiny enough to fit a 4 pounder. Pet edge prices by size which makes more sense to me.

Thanks Daisy, I'll take a look at those brands you mentioned!

I'm actually excited to be able to buy Kit stuff like this. My fiance thinks it's stupid to dress up dogs, and got kind of upset with me the one time I put a shirt on Kit. But since the coat will actually be to keep him warm he's fine with it. Now I'll just have to get Kit use to wearing one, because the closest he's ever came to wearing anything like that for longer than 5 minutes is his puppia harness. laugh out loud

Hi,

I get really cold in the Winter, so I wear coats or sweaters. If it is super cold I wear both to keep me warm.
