does anyone have their dog on a fairly high dose of phenobarbital? my aussie, brady had been seizure free for 1.5 years and then started seizing again in may and has had 6 seizures now between may and august. our vet has steadily been increasing his phenob., there was plenty of room to move up according to his blood levels. He is currently on 90 mg. am and 90 mg. pm and will have his blood levels checked again in a month. He hasn't had a seizure in 12 days now on this increased dose. Just wondering if anyone else has to use such a high dose. I want the seizures to stay away and at the same time worry about his liver. Is 180 mg. daily really that high? thnx

I have forgotten how to do the dose levels, Zoey takes 1.7mgs(?) of KBB (syringe, I think it is a quarter teeaspoon) and 2.5 tabs of pheno daily, she has been mostly seizure free (except she opts out of a dose). She is not a big dog and i think that dose is pretty high.
