should I be worried?

Yesterday afternoon, Brewski and were playing frisbee out in our lawn, his all time favorite game. Unfortunately, he tends to be a little too reckless and self-sacrificing when it comes to doing everything he p0ssibly can do to catch it, even if it means diving/sliding across the pavement, or in the case of yesterday-jumping too crazy and landing wrong. He immediately yelped and put his frisbee down and ran to the house-letting me know he was done. He did not walk on his back left leg for about a minute, but then seemed ok on it. Today, I do not notice any swelling, extra heat, deformity, gait changes, etc...however, he has fallen on the stairs twice today and he NEVER has. He was fine to play frisbee again today too, running and jumping. Is he just ignoring that he is hurt or do you think he's probably ok?

I'm wondering the same. Buddy used to get away on us by hopping our fence. He'd want to Race the cars on the road (him running in the ditch) He literally would run at least 10 miles like that. But 1 1/2 years ago, he slipped on some ice and hurt his hip. He'd come into the house and laydown but when he got up he wouldn't put his leg down. We'd massage it and stretch it for him and he would be better until the next time he got away. However, last summer both Koda & Buddy were playing outside with a ball and she went to jump over him and landed on his hips. He yelped and ran into the house. Ever since, whenever he is sleeping for a while he can hardly move when he gets up. At the pet store I've been buying a product that has glucosimine (for joints) and that seems to be helping. He acts like hes got arthritis or something. On the days where he does seem worse, we massage his hip area, down his legs. It seems to help and seems to have created a new bonding moment for us as now he is much more attentive & affectionate to our family. (When he came to us he was very independant and didn't want to be petted much.) He seems to welcome our touches.

My mom had to adopt my female who needed more attention than I could provide. One day Babe got out of the front door and ran straight to the street. Where she hit a car. That's right, Babe ran straight into the front side of a car. The car was probably doing about 15- 20 mph. She got up and shook her body like nothing happened. While you should be cautious of anything that seems like they may have hurt themselves doing, don't worry too much. I think you did the right thing by continuing to observe your dog. If they seem injured and sore for more than a day or two than I take them to the vet.
