The American Pit Bull Terrier is currently the #1 dog targeted by BSL, which is interesting because that’s exactly what turns these dogs into the crazed maniacs currently associated with the breed. BSL makes these banned breeds look vicious which is what draws them in as a status symbol for people wanting to be portrayed as tough. Now these "TOUGH" guys want to see which one of them is the most manly-the toughest-so they take their BSL Banned warriors to battle it out in a dog fighting ring. Wouldn’t it be better to change the laws that govern dogfighting than creating new ones to eliminate this breed?
Rehabilitation is always an option rather than exterminating them just because they are Pit Bulls. Out of the 53 dogs taken from Michael Vick 52 have now been adopted into loving homes. Doesn't that seem like a better solution.
One of these Pit Bulls is now working as a therapy dog providing comfort to people going with cancer.
