My poor 13 year old has been plagued with rodent ulcer and IBD for about 3 years now and this year it got as worse as it's ever been.

I"m consulting a great holistic cat specialist and want to move to raw. I tried some Primal beef medalians, just 3 tiny pieces a few weeks ago and she heaved them right back up. It will be a slow transition, but Primal seems to be a pretty good complete raw diet. Any suggestions on the best raw food companies? I'd like to try to stick with complete rather than having to add taurine etc if possible.

And any suggestions on how to start out? Maybe mix a tiny bit of raw in with the canned and slowly build up?

Perhaps your holistic cat specialist can advise you about herbs. When Daisy came to live with me, she was in poor health and experienced severe digestive issues when transitioning to raw food. My vet provided herbs which made a huge difference in her comfort level.

thanks Daisy! My holistic cat lady put 'Bama on a raw pork diet that she say is the fastest way to get rid of the rodent ulcer, I actually sear the pork to kill any bacteria on the outside and freeze it to kill any parasites. So far so good. I will never feed my kitty crappy commercial food again, ever!

Doing great on our new raw pork diet. It's actually kind of seared on the outside, but all organic human grade, 2 weeks on it full time now and no vomiting in over a week, knock on wood.

Oh Alabama,

It's great to hear the pork is staying inside your little belly! I never actually heard of searing/freezing raw pork. I will definitely look into appropriating this technique for dogs.

Keep getting better every day, ok? This way, you can look forward to many more fun-filled years.
