 | |  | | Our girl was a stray that we got at our Humane Society. She was being called Annie after the infamous orphan. We let our daughter choose a new name and Leela is a character on Futurama and she was raised in an orphanarium!
I wanted to call her Nikki after Nikki Sixx. Our first angel, Axl was named after Axl Rose and we thought it would be nice to continue the tradition of naming our pets after rock n rollers.
Now, the name Leela has grown on me. She learned it very quickly so I think she likes it
