She came back from a overnight trip and her stepdad was outside waiting for her to tell her what me and Koda did.
We dug into her bunnys cage and we mutilated and killed him.
we also destroyed her big rose bush and tree. she isn't talking to us. She wants us to go away.
How do I get her to love us again.

Koda's Mom, What sad news. We don't even begin to know how you feel or the right thing to say.
Dogs are naturally hunters and some just need to be controlled to stop the urges, it's not all Buddy and Koda's fault. We are sorry there was a temptation and there was opportunity.
Some of us just can't be left alone and act out when we are.
We are so sad for your loss, we wish you peace and wisdom.

This is very hard. You were just following your instinct, but the bunny was a beloved pet,too. Nature is just very hard.
Mom was watching a fox proudly carrying a dead squirrel back to its den to feed it's family. We were happy for it, but then we also thought that that might be a momma squirrel with babies missing her.

I am still pretty oblivious to why she's so upset with me. I am not sure why she's so sad. Koda is sure sucking up though, he must know something I don't.
She is starting to talk to me again, and she says she'll keep me, but, I am on probation of sorts. We are moving to an acreage and there will be lots of little critters. she's scared. Am I not supposed to eat all the little things???
Hopefully in a few more days I'll be getting my cuddles like before.
It's tough being a dog sometimes, I just don't know all the rules yet.
I hope Thumper can forgive me someday.

She agrees with you about the fact dogs eat rabbits. but in the wild. she doesn't think dogs should chew through rabbit run to eat pet rabbits though. I must curb my urge. so she says.
She tells me she knows it's instinct. but, she's sad cause Thumper was the sweetest, friendliest, cuddliest pet bunny she's ever owned. and he was an adoptee from an SPCA too.
She cuddled me some last nite, it felt good. I think she is moving past it now, paws crossed. We've been working on alot of ground work too, working on recall and stuff. Everyone thinks in time, with some training, I'll be a real good dog and maybe one day be a babysitter to all the little critters.

Buddy, you'll be a really good dog some day. And once you get to your new place and wear off some of that energy, it will help. We all make mistakes. (maybe I should say lots of mistakes in my case) One time we were visiting some friends and I was off leash. Well this chicken ran by. I'd never seen a chicken before and it was RUNNING! You know what that means, don't you? Yep, CHASE! And I caught it. It didn't die but it wasn't running anymore either. I got in big trouble for that one. My dad was muttering about not being able to take me anywhere. I tried to look innocent but those feathers hanging out of my mouth didn't help my case any. I have learned to "curb" my instinct when we're at someone's house, so just hang in there. It takes time and patience. A lot of time and a lot of patience. I'm talking a few years of time and patience. Mom had to learn to watch me like a hawk and catch me just at the right time or I was off. Man, those where the good ol' days....................
