I will be 3 months old on Friday. I like to chew on everything, carpets, couches, wooden corners, especially my toys. But I have a very sensitive stomach and Ive been having diarrhea since I came to my new owners in New York from Ohio. (from February 21)Ive been on Eukineba when i was very young and then got switched to Welness Puppy and Welness Puppy Large Breed. But I still keep having diarrhea and vet is keep giving metromidazole and I dont like being on pills. frown How can I make my stomach better?? What food should I get??

It could be the water. Larger cities have TONS more chlorine in the water and it can give some animals (and humans!) digestive problems. I would start by switching him to filtered water and see if that helps.

Has your vet mentioned giving him some canned pumpkin (NOT the pumpkin pie filling, the actual plain canned pumpkin - it should be the only ingredient listed on the can)? A few tablespoons with his food (or even a small bowl) usually helps a lot.

It could also be an allergy to something in his food (or stress). Solid Gold makes a good food called 'Wolf King' which is what we feed our Husky. It doesn't have the usual allergens in it.

Lastly, if all your vet is doing is prescribing him Metrinidozole over and over and not looking into what could be causing the problem, you should find a new vet. It sounds like they are just treating the symptoms without really investigating the cause.

Good luck!

Whoops, meant to recommend "Wolf Cub" ~ that's the puppy one. The puppy food may also be too rich. That happened with one of my dogs when he was about this age and we had to switch him to adult food.
