| Barked: Wed Mar 25, '09 6:41pm PST | | | | | | Hi everyfur!! Welcome to the new thread!! This is a place where you can enjoy the daily devotional and just relax! You can walk down to the pond and enjoy hearing the water. Or grab a smoothie from the smoothie bar. Just remember to enjoy your self here! This is a place to relax and stop thinking about how busy we are and all the things that we have to do today, come in and take a load off!! Here is today's devotional:
Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently
for Him;
( PSALM 37:7 *NKJV )
In this World today patience is hard to find. After all,
we have become accustomed to instant everything, from
T V dinners to instant mail via computer. Thus patience
has almost become a lost art today!
It is important to remember that patience is a virtue.
So whatever you try to accomplish, do it with hard work
and patience. For true accomplishments do not occur
easily or instantly! For it is written; Do not become
sluggish, but imitate those who through
faith and patience inherit the promises.
( Hebrews 6:12 )
So, always put your trust in the Lord, work hard,
and have patience. For the only place where "success"
comes before "work" is in Webster's Dictionary! Also
remember that through the patience of many a great man
or woman, truly wonderful things have been developed to
improve our lives today!
Therefore; Now may the God of patience
and comfort grant you to be like-minded
toward one another, according to Christ
Jesus, 6 that you may with one mind and
one mouth glorify the God and Father
of our Lord Jesus Christ. And; Lord direct
your hearts into the love of God and into
the patience of Christ. and may you have a great
week as well. Amen. ( ROMANS 15:5-6 ) &

| Barked: Thu Mar 26, '09 3:59pm PST | | | | | | Thank you, Baxter for the uplifting words.
My mommy keeps this prayer by the cremains of her beloved Malamutes and she asked that I share it with you.
THE PRAYER OF THE DOG
(...from "Prayers of the Animals" by Captain Noah, Philadelphia 1974)
SOME RECKON, LORD, THAT IT HAS BEEN TEN CENTURIES SINCE MAN AND I BECAME THE BEST OF FRIENDS.
WE HIT IT OFF RIGHT FROM THE START,
AND SINCE THEN HAVE SHARED CAMP AND FIRESIDE,
DRAGGED INDIAN TRAVOIS AND ESKIMO SLED,
GUARDED CASTLE KEEP AND WAGON TRAIN,
HERDED SHEEP AND TRACKED GAME.
REWARDED THEN AS NOW WITH A PAT OR KIND WORD.
YOU HAVE LIMITED MY SPEECH, LORD,
TO BARKING A WARNING OR SNARLING A CAUTION,
AND HOWLING WHEN I AM IN PAIN OR LONELY BENEATH YOUR MOON.
THOUGH I CANNOT OTHERWISE TALK TO MAN,
NEITHER CAN I ARGUE WITH HIM.
NOR CAN I SMILE.
INSTEAD, I WIG-WAG THIS UPTURNED TAIL OF MINE TO GESTURE:
I AM HERE!
IT HAS NEVER MATTERED TO ME HIS STATION OR RACE.
BUT ONLY THAT I HAVE SHARED MY MASTER'S LOT TO THE VERY
END WITH COURAGE. AMEN!

| Barked: Sat Mar 28, '09 12:45pm PST | | | | | | Sorry I didn't post yesterday, mom wouldn't let me get on!! Anyway here is today's devotional!!
Our mouths were filled with laughter,
our tongues with songs of joy. Then it
was said among the nations, "The Lord
has done great things for them."
( Psalms 126:2 )
Dear Reader,
The following message was sent to me by one of our
Sister's-In-Christ. I hope it will start your Saturday with a
smile and a laugh or two, as we usually do on Saturday's.
So let us enjoy:
"Some Christian Humor ..."
========
There was a very gracious lady who was mailing an old family
Bible to her brother in another part of the country. "Is there
anything breakable in here?" asked the postal clerk. "Only the
Ten Commandments." Answered the lady.
========
Somebody has said there are only two kinds of people in the
world. There are those who wake up in the morning and say,
"Good morning, Lord," and there are those who wake up in the
morning and say, "Good Lord, it's morning."
========
A minister parked his car in a no-parking zone in a large city
because he was short of time and couldn't find a space with a
meter. Then he put a note under the windshield wiper that read:
"I have circled the block 10 times. If I don't park here, I'll miss
my appointment. Forgive us our trespasses."
When he returned, he found a citation from a police officer along
with this note "I've circled this block for 10 years. If I don't give
you a ticket I'll lose my job. "Lead us not into temptation."
========
There is the story of a pastor who got up one Sunday and
announced to his congregation: "I have good news and bad
news. The good news is, we have enough money to pay for our
new building program. The bad news is, it's still out there in
your pockets."
========
While driving in Pennsylvania, a family caught up to an Amish
carriage. The owner of the carriage obviously had a sense of
humor, because attached to the back of the carriage was a
hand printed sign... "Energy efficient vehicle: Runs on oats and
grass. Caution: Do not step in exhaust."
========
A Sunday School teacher began her lesson with a question,
"Boys and girls, what do we know about God?" A hand shot
up in the air. "He is an artist!" said the kindergarten boy.
"Really? How do you know?" the teacher asked. "You know -
Our Father, who does art in Heaven... "
========
A minister waited in line to have his car filled with gas just
before a long holiday weekend. The attendant worked quickly,
but there were many cars ahead of him. Finally, the attendant
motioned him toward a vacant pump. "Reverend," said the
young man, "I'm so sorry about the delay. It seems as if
everyone waits until the last minute to get ready for a long trip."
The minister chuckled, "I know what you mean. It's the same
in my business."
========
A father was approached by his small son who told him proudly,
"I know what the Bible means!" His father smiled and replied,
"What do you mean, you 'know' what the Bible means?" The son
replied, "I do know!" "Okay," said his father. "What does the
Bible mean?" "That's easy, Daddy." The young boy replied
excitedly, "It stands for 'Basic Information Before Leaving
Earth.'"
========
Sunday after church, a Mom asked her very young daughter
what the lesson was about. The daughter answered, "Don't be
scared, you'll get your quilt."
Needless to say, the Mom was perplexed. Later in the day, the
Pastor stopped by for tea and the Mom asked him what that
morning's Sunday school lesson was about. He said "Be not
afraid, thy comforter is coming."
========
Give me a sense of humor, Lord,
Give me the grace to see a joke,
To get some humor out of life,
And pass it on to other folk! Amen.

| Barked: Sun Mar 29, '09 10:20am PST | | | | | | Hi guys!! Hope you are having a great day!! Here is today's devotional!!
"Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
( Exodus 20:8-11 *NKJV )
9 [ Six days you shall labor and do all your work, ]
10 [ but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD
your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your
on, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor
your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger
who is within your gates.]
11 [ For in six days the LORD made the heavens and
the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested
the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the
Sabbath day and hallowed it.]
_________________________
I often receive email asking what day the Sabbath should be.
So today let us look into that matter and see why we do not
follow the 5th Commandment today.
Now the Solar calendar used in the time of Moses declared
Saturday as the seventh day. So does our calendar today.
So what changed to make our day of worship the first day
of the week, thus Sunday? Well we must go back in time
to about 300 A. D. to find that answer. You see, the Roman Ruler
Constantine, changed the day of worship because
he felt since Christ was resurrected on a Sunday it should be The
Lord's Day, and the best day to worship HIM. Therefore he
ordered all businesses closed on Sunday instead of Saturday.
He also pushed the early Church to follow that order as well.
Now they eventually did, and thus Sunday became the day
of worship instead of Saturday. Though we now worship
on Sunday's, Christians still follow the principle of the
command. For they dedicate time to the Lord by resting, by
praising HIM for HIS blessings, and by remembering HIS
saving acts written in the Bible, and attending Church.
Now before you think to harshly about Constantine or any-
one else, remember he was the one the made Christianity
legal by proclaiming "The Edict of Milan." That Edict
established tolerance for all religions including Christianity.
He further gave large sums of money to help the Christian
faith become what it is today.
Hope you have a blessed day!! See you tomorrow!!

| Barked: Mon Mar 30, '09 1:35pm PST | | | | | | Almost everyone, whether religious or not has
heard the 23rd Psalm, because it is quoted so very often,
especially at funeral services. Many even refer to it as the
"Resurrection Psalm." However this beautiful Psalm by David
actually Ministers to the living as well!
So let us see how this beautiful Psalm by David, actually
applies to us each and every day, using both the Old and
New Testments.
Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
God will meet all your needs according to
His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
( Philippians 4:19 )
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he
leads me beside quiet waters,
Whether you turn to the right or the left,
your ears will hear a voice behind you,
saying, "This is the way; walk in it."
( Isaiah 30:21 )
He restores my soul. He guides me in paths
of righteousness for his name's sake.
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light
for my path. ( Psalm 119:105 )
Even though I walk through the valley of the
shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are
with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort
me.
When you pass through the waters, they
will not sweep over you. When you walk
through fire, you will not be burned; the
flames will not set you ablaze.
( Isaiah 43:2 )
You prepare a table before me in the presence
of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Praise be to the God and Father of our
Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in
the spiritual realms with every spiritual
blessing in Christ. For He chose us in
Him before the creation of the World to
be holy and blameless in His sight.
( Ephesians 1:3-4 )
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the
days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of
the Lord forever.
For God so loved the World that He gave
His one and only son, that whoever
believes in Him shall not perish but have
eternal life. ( John 3:16 )
____________________
Finally, know that you are very special to God, and;
the Lord your God is with you, He is mighty
to save. He will take great delight in you,
He will quiet you with his love, He will
rejoice over you with singing. Amen.
( Zephaniah 3:17 )
Have a blessed day!!

| Barked: Tue Mar 31, '09 6:20am PST | | | | | | He has given us this command: Whoever
loves God must also love his brother.
( 1 JOHN 4:21 *NIV )
Our Savior Jesus Christ said; "A new command I
give you: Love one another. As I have loved
you, so you must love one another.
( John 13:34 )
So, Offer hospitality to one another without
grumbling. Each one should use whatever
gift he has received to serve others, faithfully
administering God's grace in its various forms.
(1 Peter 4:9-10 )
Thus, If anyone has material possessions
and sees his brother in need but has no pity
on him, how can the love of God be in him?
Dear children, let us not love with words or
tongue but with actions and in truth.
Now just; Suppose a brother or sister is without
clothes and daily food. If one of you says to
him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and
well fed,"but does nothing about his physical
needs, what good is it? After all Jesus also said:
'I tell you the truth, what ever you did for one
of the least of these brothers of mine, you did
for me.' ( 1 John 3:17-18 ) ( James 2:15-16 )
( Matthew 25:40 )
Therefore, Love must be sincere. Hate what
is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted
to one another in brotherly love. Honor one
another above yourselves. (Romans 12:9-10)
and God will Bless you for it! Amen.
