|My Coydog is incredibly social. She does show a nervous tendency when new people enter our home. She'll get very low and submissive, seems cautious and untrusting. Coydogs/Dogotes are not neccessarily destined for a skittish temperament. There are a lot of factors besides genetics that determine a dogs personality including early life-trauma, socialization, exposure, reinforcement etc...
She does have some interesting quirks behaviorally. When I first got her, she was reversed house trained. We lived in an apartment and she wouldn't potty outside, ever. She can jump 5 feet in the air, clear off the ground, she trots like a fox, she will howl, or as we call it, "sing" like a true coyote. (they have a very unique sound).... we all howl together like a pack, they love it.
