I love my Chiweenie Daisy! She just turned 5 months old, and is so lovable & sweet and loves to give kisses to everyone! There are a couple issues we are having though.

1. She whines alot, sometimes for no apparent reason. She just whines.
2. She is very attached to me, she cries when I shower, leave the room. And absolutely freaks out when I leave for school (which is 6 hours twice a week). I give her something that smells like me, I give her a peanut butter filled Kong, all her favorite toys, make my goodbyes very uneventful. Last week I recorded her on my camera and she howled, whined, barked, pulled on the crate door, and tore up her cage for 1 hour after I left.
3. She seems to love on other people more than she does me. Is this just cause I'm always there?

So I was wondering if anyone else has had any issues like these with their Chiweenie and if so what did you do about them?

Thank you!
Taz

I'm no expert by any means, but here's what I've learned and what I've come to believe...

Taz whines and barks because he is insecure. So we are trying to work with him on this. As far as Daisy's whining, she might need exercise... I know if Taz doesn't get enough exercise he is much more whiny. Do you go on walks with her? Little dogs need exercise the same as big dogs. Sometimes running around the yard is enough, but some need actual walks - at least an hour a day. If you don't have time for that, try training her on a treadmill. Many people are finding great success with that. One thing that I've learned is SUPER important is that you can't feel sorry for them or get frustrated. They pick up on your energy and things just get worse.
As far as her loving on everyone else... it might be because you are there all the time. I've noticed our dogs do that also.

Keep us posted on how things are going with Daisy!
