My Mommy just found my paper work to register me. (we recently moved) She was filling it out and was asking several questions. 1) did the breeder already pay the fee's when she started the paperwork? 2) what is the difference between the price packets? 3) do i really have to have a fancy name? My daddy and mommy got in an a little disagreement. Daddy wanted "Rusty Nuts" Mommy started laughing because she didn't think dad was serious red face Mommy then asked daddy if he thought any one would want to breed with a dog whose name was that.big laugh ALso what makes a register name, does it have to be first, middle, last? I am not chipped now, because the company my mommy was going to use is not going to be around any more. should My mommy talk to the local vets to see what they use now or is tattooing an option? Are any of you tattooed? Thanks for all your help!

you dont have to be chiped unless you have a lot of dogs you breed from them akc comes out to look at your kennel. Tattooed I dont thank it wolud help if you got lost because the hair will grow back and you will not see it. On what makes a reg name most all breeders use there keenel name on gsd a lot of them are von than the breeder last name than the dogs name. Or some go by person alittes. Like my mom breeds cats one of the kittens was relly friendley and out going so her reg name is Sanfurs Littel Miss Sunshine. Sanfurs is the cattery name.Hope this helps

You should of gotten papers from the person you got her from.
If she was an adult then they should of signed the registration over to you.
My dog is tattooed and it is in her papers from Germany.
that is used for identification purposes.
Over here you can microchip her.

Most tatoos are placed in the ears so the hair growth isn't really an issue. Microchips are nice but make sure you do you research and get a widely used one. There are multiple brands and most vets and shelters do not carry them all. So collar tags are always necessary. Momma got us the TogetherTag. It is a tag that keeps an online record of each of your pets and if you get lost the company sends out fliers to nearby vets/animal control/Shelters/etc. Nearby TogetherTag members are also contacted by Email (if you opted for this option to do so) so many are looking for you not just your family. It's very nice to have!
