From Wishes' new mom: HaHa! That's what an online dog group told me when I asked for advice on GSPs. I was a 2 dog family for 7 years, and then last Feb. I lost my best-first dog to cancer. Me and my beagle grieved for months. The beagle became a lonely couch potato, so I finally went looking for another dog. Totally unexpectedly, I found a GSP at a local shelter. I told an online dog group that I worked full-time and had a small house and yard. They said, "No way! You can't handle a GSP!" Well, we're doing just fine. smile

Hey, good for you. I've had my GSP in a small apartment for nearly 2 years. All the extra walking has been good for us both, but there is sooo much of it. Spring thankfully brings a better attitude for me. Unless Ceri is sick, her attitude is spot on. Good luck to all 3 of you.
I'm so sorry for your loss.

I think age plays a role in the "always on" comment. As I have gotten older, my energy has decreased. I was adopted when I was around 3yrs old. I had tons of energy, loved chasing squirrels, chipmunks & rabbits & loved going for walks/jogs. After I passed 7yrs old, I started slowing down. Now that I'm almost 11, I still bounce a little and love walks, but the squirrels no longer hold any interest for me
