Our first Rott/lab!

	Hey everyone! I am so glad that I found this website. We recently just adopted an adorable (as you can see from the picture!) rott/lab mix, at least everyone thinks its a rottie/lab mix. He is 10 weeks, and full of energy and spunk! We also have a 5 month old boxer (yes two pups at once and two 6 month old kittens-lol). Anyways, so far Petn has been fun. He is definitely harder to potty-train than our boxer, but we are working on it. From what I have seen so far, he is all lab when it comes to his personality (i had all labs growing up). I was just wondering what other rott/labs are like. I have done my research on rott's, but I would still love any advice that people have to help guide him to continue to be a wonderulf, loveable puppy! Thanks!

	As you can see I'm Rott/Lab and so is my sister Alexandria. I look like a Rottie and she look's like a Lab. We are 4 year's old and littermates. Mom got us when we were both 4 week's old. Our first year was tough with potty training and learning not to chew thing's we shouldn't. But with love we made it.

	love heck! i got a slap on the nose everytime i did something like that walker!guess you could call it tough love but i potty trained in a month, and chewwing ?? he got me plenty of rawhides!

Rott'n'Labs are- the bomb

	Welcome to Rott'n'Labs! My advice: Puppy class and obedience class. It doesn't matter what breed. Puppy class will teach Petn socialization and bite inhibition, as well as some basic commands. You can also get help with other puppy issues. Look on the internet for a local obedience club that offers classes. Good Luck!

	Hi Petn! My personality is also more like a Lab ~ I was so hyper and CRAZY when my humans brought me home (I ate shoes and blinds on the windows) but they gave me lots of guidance and training as to what was acceptable and not acceptable; they set boundaries and expectations for my behaviors early on... Training and obedience classes will be key in attaining a calm, submissive attitude. As for the Rottie in me; I am protective and loyal. I also HATE water just like my purebreed Rottie brother, Baloo, who has since passed. My mom was excited when they brought me home thinking that I would be a great dog to take to the lake, thinking that I would love to swim. Not So! Even bath time scares me; the last time they tried to give me a bath, I peed on my dad when he picked me up to put me in the tub.

	Woof cute little baby Petn! My pawrents adopted me when I was 6 months old, right after I got fixed. Not even 2 weeks later we all went to a 6 week training course & it did wonders for both me & the pawrents. There are many tricks & advice they give that you may not otherwise think about. My mom/dad stayed home with me 24/7 for the 1st 5 days & that was when I got potty trained & I flew through that with flying colors! Good luck - you've got a LOT of little ones on your hands. Mom would say that rotties are large dogs & can be challenging at times & need to know who is the boss. I act like my dad is the boss/alpha, eventhough mom really is too. xoxoxoxo, Honeypie

	Hi Petn! Mom adopted me when I was 2... or was it 3??? She can't remember, but I was good from the get go...except I would mark over my older brother (now an angel) Bubba, and I didn't like it if someone laid on me, but mom fixed that by....laying on me!!! Now, my little sister Rory...she is a whole 'nother story... Chaz avoiding Roo's smack

	Hi Petn!!! Do not listen to Chaz, he is a pain n the neck bother! When mom first got me, I was a nipper, but she taught me to kiss instead of nip Then I had the beginning obedience class at Petsmart, and I did pretty well, mom just wishes she had more time to work with me! The trainer says I am really smart (Rory giving Chaz the evil eye) and my foster mom house trained me before I came to live with my mommy now! Good luck sweetie!
