Hi Everyone! My mom thinks I'd love agility, but we are having trouble finding something close to home. We are looking for something in the L.A. area, preferable in the So Bay area, but we can travel to Orange County or another area near by. Mom says she has no experience with this and would love to hear what others have to say about the agility experience. We are up for other ideas for me, too. I'm pretty athletic and also might enjoy a mental challenge.

Hi Winnie Joy! Go to www.k9cpe.com - check and see if there are any clubs in your area. I do cpe (Canine Performance Events) and it's really fun. You could also look in the phone book to find dog training places. I go once a week to class - just to practice. That's fun, too. Good luck!!

You can also visit:
AKC
ASCA
NADAC
DOCNA
USDAA
on these sites you can either look up events for agility trials, or look up clubs. Either way, you can find a club near you somewhere, it is a major US city.

But, if you find a trial in your local area, you can go to it. Volunteer to help, and you may get to know teh members and get tips on the best trainers to get you started.

That is by far the best way to go about it.
