Sumo is a 2 yr old, very active and intense Shiba who had surgery for a torn ACL 5 days ago. He stayed overnight at the vet and came home the next day. The first couple days he seemed pretty normal (considering he had had surgery), but the last two days he is acting odd. He is finicky with food (he used to eat anything) and this morning refused to eat anything, even freshly cooked chicken. He occasionally goes into a type of trance, seemingly staring at nothing. Sometimes his body trembles, almost as if he is shivering. He also paces the floor like a caged animal (he is confined to our first floor which is a change from having the run of the house). He's young, so perhaps the pacing is simply restlessness but the vet doesn't want us to go for extended walks and I am not sure how else to help him burn up his energy.

While we didn't expect him to be his normal self post-op, this trembling/catatonic/pacing/won't eat a thing behavior seems unusually odd. We called the vet and they said if it were a drug reaction, it would've started immediately. For now, they simply said "watch him". Any thoughts?
