I started my three dogs on a raw diet and they are doing great! A friend of ours is having problems with her dog eating too fast and not chewing the bones, then throwing up. One of my 3, Rumor, did throw up the first few times with raw beef liver, but he cleaned it up all on his own. No way I'm touching raw liver twice......shock

Any adice to slow down a fast bone swallower??

Our dog is also a fast eater who would probably swallow a chicken whole if she could. To keep her from doing this we freeze all her meat (except turkey cause she can't seem to chew frozen turkey legs at all). Then when it's time to eat we run what we're feeding her under warm water for a few seconds so it doesn't stick to her tounge and to start the thawing process. It takes her more time to chew it and she doesn't seem to care that it's frozen. This has worked for everything and the only time she's thrown up was when we gave her a non-frozen chopped up fish.

Hope that helps!

I'm probably way late on this.... but... we also serve meat frozen! It is great, especially for hot summer days...

FYI: Organs are A LOT less yucky when frozen! applause
