My favourite training food is cheese, although in moderation. When we're not using cheese, we use ordinary small bite treats you can buy or one of my toys.

What about you??

How to teach your dog to "put its toys away." snoopysnoopy

Method 1 (Jet's method)
1) Get your dog to pick its toy up by either fetching, catching etc
2) Encourage your dog over to its "toy box" with the toy still in its mouth.
3) Using a treat as a "lure" get your dog to put its nose into the box with the toy still in its mouth.
4) The dog should then drop the toy into the box to get the treat.
5) Reward the dog with a click and/or the treat.
6) Repeat often

How to Teach "Bow" blue dog (It's all about the Capture!)

(1) Ask yourself, what makes me get into play-mode? (natural inviting play bow)

For my sister we get on our knees and say "Kayla!... Bowww!... (quicking putting both our arms extended out straight and slightly in front of us)" This makes Kayla get all happy & excited so she throws herself into a play bow. Click & Treat! happy dance

For Zoe our neighbor we grab her favorite toy and squeek it a bunch until she gets all riled up. Once she throws us a play bow we Click & Treat. Keep the energy and try to create the behavior again. click & treat. Repeat Shaping then move into Capture. Stand there watching to see if they will throw you the behavior. Click & Treat! Once they throw the behavior a couple times add the word "Bow" if they respond click and treat. If not... never never say it say it twice twice. wink

If you find yourself not being able to create a play bow try to capture this behavior at a dog park, social hour, or while he/she plays with friends!
