Does anyone have bad experiences with their Shiba Inu's getting loose and just literally lunging at whatever dog it sees and viciously attacking it for no reason other than the mere sight of the dog in it's eyesight? Is this just a dominance issue a male Shiba Inu shows towards other male dogs or is my neigbor's Shiba Inu really that full of aggression towards my dog?naughty This happens every single time their Shiba Inu escapes from their home. If he sees my dog through a window he goes manic.confusedfrownshock:

We were attacked by a male shiba in a park when I was a puppy and my little pest brother Bear had to have special training when he was in his first 18 months because he had this tendency but I dont think all are like this.thinking

i would have to say that this is common for more than shiba's... i have had troubles with this boston, male a little older than my dog and he attacks her no matter where we are at... and he also goes ballistic when he sees her whether it is through a window, or the fence at the dog park...

Toshi has a bigger male dog aggression. If the dog is smaller than him or if it is a female he is fine with them. But if there is another male dog bigger than him he will try to size them up and if i show them any attention or he has seen me give them attention any other time then he will try to attack them. I have always had him on a leash luckely so i have been able to pull him back before he had a chance to start a fight. I have not seen him actually attack anything, but i don't want him too eaither.
I have heard that it is very common for male shiba's to not like other dogs expecially other males.

My shiba is male, 3 y.o., neutered and is definitely leash aggressive towards other dogs (big and small)
He is getting better over time.. slowwwwwwwwly

If both dogs are off leash he is generally ok with them (after he sometimes "explains the rules" to the other dog first)

I wouldn't trade him for anything tho
