Lets have some fun and see what all us hairless kids do to stay warm(It will be my first winter in Wisconsin ! ) My brother Bryan tells me it gets really cold ! Mom has ordered us snowsuits, can not wait to get them and see if they fit. Will have to check my web page ti see when they come.

List a post that tells us about your favorite outfit, and or activity to stay warm.

Winter is coming so we all need ideas !!

It has been a challenge keeping these little guys warm, even in southern USA. Microfleece shirts are great as they are soft and keep the body heat in, but they aren't much help when the temps head below 40 degrees F.

I bought sweaters and coats from sale tables to prepare for the season. I need so many because Nicki chews her clothes and so I can rotate them through the wash. The main problem with generally available dog clothes on hairless dogs is that they rub at the top of the front legs. I put aloe salve on the irritated areas, but it's still uncomfortable to them. Besides, their rears and legs are still exposed.

I have recently found a solution to keeping Nicki warm for cold training nights. A small company called Custom Pet and Tack makes four-legged bodysuits for AHTs and other dogs out of "dryline," Polar Fleece or Spandex. Happily, they are not expensive. They made a dryline bodysuit with Nicki's measurements that is stretchy and fits her well. She can jump hurdles in flyball and even run agility in it. I chose solid black so she could soak up the sun's heat when available. She hates putting it on as it is more difficult to get into than even pajamas, but it keeps her warm.

She also has a Polar Fleece bodysuit that can be put on over the dryline bodysuit for the cold, windy nights. We haven't run agility in it yet and I'm not so sure the duo will allow her the movement she needs. She looks like a little armadillo with all of that on.

Incidentally, if your AHT chews clothes, you might try a product called Bitter Yuck! if other deterrents don't work. Bitter Apple in no way deters Nicki, but Bitter Yuck! mostly does. Unfortunately, it deters me, too. It is made of rosemary, but comes across to me as an objectionable, long-lasting chemical smell and taste. Spray it on the clothes and immediately leave the room to let dry. It lasts a long time and barely smells to humans after it has dried. You will pick up residue on your hands, however.

I ordered most of my clothing from Amazon. I gave in dog pajamas ( that's how they spelled it ) or dog jump suit or dog jumper or try dog camo fatigued ( it's a nice fitting cotton jumper).
Beanie is about 13 pounds now and medium is a very good fit for him.

Hope that helped and I'll go and check out the snow suit link right away applause
