Hi,
I'm located in Indiana and really wanted to meet up with some local owners, possibly breeders to meet an American Foxhound before deciding to own one. Any contact info would be much appreciated!

I would try to rescue one before bringing another animal into a world that is already struggling with pet overpopulation. An e-mail to try would be foxhoundrescue@aol.com; they might be able to help you. There is also a rescue group out of new hampshire that you could contact for info. on more local animals. Good luck- they are wonderful, athletic dogs, who need alot of exercise and do best with other canines to pal around with. In addition to our rescued foxhound, we have a 13-inch beagle and a beagle/ basset hound cross. I would not recommend the breed if you have small pets like cats- the foxhound views them as prey, in general.
