Hi everybody,

Ursula has started limping and it appears that it's her right front shoulder that bothers her. She never whines or complains but it must hurt since she limps. At first I thought it was due to her rough housing with my daughter's dog (who Ursy just loves), but it seems to be lingering. I'im going to bring her into the vet to see what she says.

I'm thinking maybe Urs is too heavy, but then I know elkies are big around by nature. Does anybody else have limping problems? If so, what did your vet recommend?

Hi Ursula,
Are you walking better, yet?? I limped around and favored on foot for a few weeks. It got better all on its own - my mom and dad still don't know what was wrong with me. So, sometimes it just takes time to heal. My lil sis Akela (a newfie) was limping for a few days once and mom and dad took her to the vet. They did xrays just to be safe and it turned out it was just a bruised paw. She was better within a couple more days. My limp lasted longer but went away completely eventually. I hope you get better, too!

Ursy's limping has improved quite a bit. This even though last weekend was spent with her Cousin Abby (my daughter's mixed breed hound dog) playing nonstop with just a few naps inbetween romps.

As mentioned, Urs never whines or complains, so I assumed her limping was due to pain. Thank goodness the limping is gone. Don't think it was her paw, but then I didn't check that very closely.

But all is well in Ursy-land so I'm happy now.
