I absolutely LOVE my little guy, but he barks at everything. I walk him at least an hour a day, and he gets plenty of additional attention from my nephew! I live in a large apartment community, and my neighbors have started to complain. I have spoken to other dog owners, and they have suggested a shock collar, but that's just to cruel! He is also an avid chewer, Any advise is much appreciated!!

Yep, they're yappers! My Scrappy loves to hear himself bark and we too live in an apartment. We're working on his "inside" voice right now, as he is only 10 weeks old.

So far, so good--within 2 day's we taught him the word "quiet" by giving him treats when he settles down. He's slowly learning when I say "quiet Scraps" to do just that. He'll whine, but won't bark. It's a process but it seems to be working. ::crossing fingers::

As far as the chewing, say "no" in a firm manner, remove the item in question, give him a chew toy and praise him a lot. Hope that helps.
