Spay, Neuter,- Adopt!

| Barked: Thu Sep 4, '08 12:50pm PST | | | | | | My mom used to have a white dog named Stryker. He was stunning, stryking (hence his name) and she loved him so much! She met him when he was 7 and she moved in with him and his family. After he died, she always talked about her "beautiful white dog" BUT never planned on getting another husky to "replace him" and never really thought about getting another white dog...maybe she thought she would always compare it to Stryker. 7 years later and finally ready for another dog, mom had her heart set on a golden retriever or a yellow lab. She wanted to go the rescue route so she started looking on petfinder.com After several weeks of looking at cute little yellow mixes, she saw ME! This was the picture she saw online and she thought I was a "yellow lab mix". She fell in love with me and came to get me that weekend. It wasn't until she saw me in person that she realized I was WHITE! Now, I am 6 months old and white as a snowball! She finds herself calling me "white dog" and she can't believe that fate put another white dog in her life. Fate or Stryker? You decide...BOL!!!!!!! | | | | |

| Barked: Fri Sep 5, '08 9:47am PST | | | | | | Well, we think that you and your Mom were very lucky to find each other.
My story is sort of similar to your's. I, too, am the second "white dog" my mom had. She adopted a one year old Eskie/poodle mix as her first dog 18 years ago. As Peaches got older and sicker, Mom started checking Petfinder for Eskie/Poodle mixes. There were never any in our area. Then Peaches got so sick that she had to go to the Rainbow Bridge. The very next day me and my sister and brothers appeared on Petfinder as Eskie/Poodle mixes, and we were only a four hour drive. My Mom decided that she liked me best. When she got down there she found that I was the only puppy that hadn't been applied for yet. She decided it was fate, and I went home with her that same day. Mom says there isn't any Poodle in me, but she is glad that they said there was, because if they hadn't we would never have found each other.

Getting my own- way - any which way.

| Barked: Sun Oct 5, '08 4:48am PST | | | | | | Me? Well, one rainy day my now-mum heard there was a Yorkie-X at the RSPCA. Being Yorkie mad, it was like music to her ears and in a flash, she was there faster than Flash Gordon.
There I was, this small, wet and bedraggled little urchin, eyes fixed on the back door of the RSPCA in the hopes that my hooman mum was coming to take me home again. I'd heard something about her having gone to heaven, but wasn't too sure where and what heaven was. Anyway, this Yorkie-mad woman stood staring at me then said to the man beside her, ''There's no Yorkie in this little lady! Even so, I think she's adorable. Look at her white chest and paws!' The man shrugged his shoulders and said, 'Well, it's up to you.' The Yorkie-mad woman disppeared back into the office. A few minutes later, a RSPCA lady fetched and carried me to a back yard where the Yorkie-mad woman was waiting with two Yorkies i.e. Mr. Spud and TJ. A lot of 'nosing and butting' went on then I was whisked back to my doggie cage. That's it I thought, but guess what, the following day I was adopted!!! and you know what, Yorkies aren't that bad.
