The boys and I spent Wednesday through Friday on the road (our first nights in a tent together as a pack since Mother's day!!!) and we stopped just west of Whitesville, TN for the weekend. It's a working holiday though for me - I have over a dozen blogs to post and hope to get them all up tomorrow. To avoid confusion, I'll start sequentially with our travels through southern Arkansas, down in the delta, and then to Memphis.
Also, the website's being revamped and we have lots of exciting news to announce. Have a hoot and some hollers this weekend.
Safe travels, friends and family...

| Barked: Thu Sep 11, '08 11:13am PST | | | | | | This weekend, Luke, Hudson, and Murphy are pleased to appear as special guests at the Second Annual Honoring the Animals Candlelight Vigil at Brown-Forman Amphitheater in Louisville, Kentucky on Sunday, September 14, 2008, sponsored by Chance's Spot, Pet Loss and Support Resources, and will discuss 2Dogs2000Miles, their walk from Austin to Boston, our mission of spreading awareness of canine cancer, and our goal to find the causes.
The memorial service for the animals will be held outdoors at Brown-Forman Amphitheater located on River Road east of Tumbleweed. It will include musical selections and poetry-reading, as well as a moment of silence as candles are lit in memory of beloved animal friends. This event is free and will take place rain or shine. Those in attendance will be able to have their pet's name read out loud

Hi Everyone!
Hope you're having a great weekend.
We have a new blog up. Our friends, Jim and René, of Tripawds, have
written a guest blog, "The Tripawds Connection," for us and we hope
you'll surf over to have a look at:
http://2dogs2000miles.blogspot.com/ . There is a great photo of Jerry,
their beautiful German Shepherd, wading through the water (which only
proves their motto, "It's better to hop on three legs than to limp on
four,") who is the inspiration for Tripawds. And they've included a
brief background on how and why Tripawds got started, including a link
to a video, as well as how they met Luke and the Boys. Even though
Jerry just recently passed away, Jim and René are continuing their
travels on the road, spreading awareness about canine cancer. And
their web site (http://www.tripawds.com/) is a wealth of information
and resources on canine osteosarcoma and other cancers in dogs. If you
or someone you know has a dog struggling with osteosarcoma,
please visit Tripawds and learn all you can about dealing with this
terrible disease.
Another blog you might want to visit is by our friend Nadine M. Rosin.
You can find her blog, "The Healing Art of Pet Parenthood," at:
http://petparenthood.blogspot.com/ . While Nadine just started her
blog recently, she already has listed some terrific resources. And, in
the back of her book (The Healing Art of Pet Parenthood), she also
includes a helpful list of resources on spirituality, healing, and a
variety of products and sources. We'll be blogging together soon, but
before then I hope you'll get a copy of her book (a great gift idea
too), as it's one of those books that will touch you on many, many levels.
On another note, Luke and the Boys are planning on being in Nashville
this weekend, with their host family, Carra and her Corgis, and he'll
be touching base with some of the folks he'll be visiting and working
with while he's in the area. Hopefully, he'll have time to post a blog
or two! I know he's taken a bunch of photos and video. Let's hope he
has time to send some to us before they hit the road again.
One more thing I'd like to mention. If you're doing any on-line gift
shopping for the holidays, please remember to use iGive
(http://www.igive.com/) and
GoodShop (http://www.goodsearch.com/goodshop.aspx) as you're looking
around for holiday goodies. Both share a percentage of your purchase
price with 2 Dogs 2000 Miles. How great is that! And if you're
just surfing the net for information, please also remember to
use GoodSeach (http://www.goodsearch.com/) as such searches also help
raise funds for 2 Dogs. Thanks! Every search helps!
Enjoy your weekend. Puppy up!

Memorial Shirt 4 Is Here!
OK, I'm so excited, I could (as Hudson would say) just pee. Memorial Shirt 4 has come back from the printers and is now available. Ginger says the shirts are 100% cotton but already pre-shrunk, so keep that in mind when ordering. You can order them through Click and Pledge here.
You’ll see a picture of a guy wearing just a plain blue Tee-Shirt with no lettering. That’s the COLOR of our shirt -- stonewashed blue (the shirt has white lettering), but for a look at what the layout is on the shirt, check out the picture of Luke with The Boys.
Ginger is already filling orders. If you have any questions about Memorial Shirt 4 please email her at ginger@2dogs2000miles.org.
