Hi everywoof, I'm Kody and I'm new to Dogster and to this group.

I'm a stray that Mom and Dad just rescued - I'm still getting used to this whole idea of having a family and being loved and taken care of.

Mom's pretty sure that I'm a Rottie and Lab mix, and after finding a bunch of other Rottie x Labs here in this group and seeing how much alike we look, Mom's even more sure.

I look forward to posting here more and getting to know everyone. If anyone would like to be pals with me and my family, feel free to send a PPR. I could always use more pals. smile

Thanks for the welcome! BOL Mom says that squeezing in one more mouth to feed isn't too bad. Five dogs isn't that much difference than four, especially with my sister Lulu being so small hehe. It's more like having 4.25 dogs!

I've been keeping my diary updated about my progress and encounters with Mom's training ideas. I don't mind learning to walk on a leash and get in a kennel, but I'm not too sure I like what I hear her say about this vet place which is supposedly Mom's training goal, but we'll see.

Kody - we LOVE our vet!

He pets us and gives us little back massages to "check us out" and the ladies there are nice and they pet us and you get alllll kinds of attention there. Yes, they do have these annoying bugs that bite your back every once in a while. The vet seems to try to catch them - he'll pinch right by where they bite, but he never gets them until after they bite us. Hmmm....thinking

Do any of your furblings need to go to the vet soon? If so, maybe you could ride along, and just get treats while you are there - not actually be seen by the vet. That way, you'd know what to expect when you did go -- lots and lots of treats for behaving well!

Well, three of my sisters just saw the vet the other day actually. When Mom and Bubbi (my grandmom) loaded them up in the car without me, I was really upset and tried to jump in too. Mom wanted to take me with so I could see what was going on, but Bubbi didn't want another dog in her little backseat so I had to stay home. But at least that assured Mom that I'd get in a car and go for a ride as long as I had some company.

All week Mom has been getting me used to that strappy thing she calls a leash. Tonight she put it on me and I got to go for a walk with my sister Riley! It was so much fun! Mom is sure that I will go to the vet no problem as long as I follow Riley in.

Mom wants to build me up to traveling though - she says first we'll go for a ride in the car just around the neighborhood, and then she'll take me for a ride to somewhere really fun - a pet store! Maybe the first time I go to the vet, I can just meet him and the people that work there so it doesn't have to be a scary experience. My sisters tell me that all the people at the office really nice and give them lots of lovins.
