From Momma L.

There are some days that I barely even think about Stormie's Fanconi status - aside from doling out his meds, it's life as usual. But somedays are just so freaking hard. I look in those brown eyes of his and it nearly kills me to think that my baby is sick. Today is one of those days. I took him to the river this afternoon, and after his run, we just sat and sat and sat and watched the world go by together, and he leaned on me and dammit - I just lost it. He's my little buddy, my perfect companion, and I just can't imagine my world without him in it. The harder I cried, the more he leaned and loved on me. It's not fair that the most perfect dog on Earth could possibly have this damn affliction. It breaks my heart that I can't stop it or cure it - nothing to do but live with it and hope he continues to do well with the Protocol.

I'm sorry to be such a blubbering mess - I try so hard to stay positive through all of this and do a decent job of it for the most part - today just isn't one of those days.

hughughughug Auntie Lorraine.

Stormie is doing SO well on the protocol, you've done a wonderful job of keeping him healthy and happy and will for a long long time. It screws with your head and breaks your heart at times. We're here if you ever ever need us for anything...you know that.

Sending little senji kisses, Bug Hugs and a nice slobbery kiss too!

It's gonna be ok, Mommy thinks about it too sometimes, but most of the the time she just thinks about me dying of old age!!!!!!!

Thoughts are powerful things, so mommy says I'm gonna live a looong time because she said so!!!!

Love to you both!

Mom says thank-you for letting her bend your ears and for the supportive hugs. SHe appreciates it very much. I tell her I'm just FINE and I think she believes me most days, but some days she doesn't....like I'd fib to her! wink

Awww sweetie, I have only just seen your post. I am allowed back into Dogster again!

I do know how you feel. I hate the fact that Rosie has this and it breaks my heart too sometimes.

Thank-you (((Chris and Rosie)))) hug
I'm pleased to tell you all that Stormie did exceptionally well at his last vet visit. No med changes and he's doing well! I have to look at lowering his fat intake, as he has some elevated cholesterol, but other than that - a clean bill of health! Not another vet visit until Feb.! snoopy

That is such good news, puts some part of our mind at rest over it. I still struggle getting Rosie to take the meds. Some days she will gobble up the cheese, other days she is just not interested but she seems to be doing OK though.
