Do you see traits in your dog that you think are typically attributed to either German Shepherds and/or Chinese Shar-Peis?

For example, Jasmine & Hugo are both very vocal, which is something German Shephards are known for. Hugo also has what we call, "Shar-Pei moments" when he just stares at you when you ask him to do something - a bit of Shar-Pei stubborness and aloofness.

What characteristics do you see in your Shep-Peis?

Dearie talks quite a bit...actually she grumbles when you tell her 'no.' and sometimes she sends a message that is clearly cussing in dog language (again, when you say no, or correct). Dearie is headstrong...and I don't know if that's a Shar Pei or Shepherd trait...she only responds to commands when/if she feels like it.

On the other hand, she is extremely affectionate and "talks' and/or reaches for you when she wants to be petted/cuddled.

Dave is the quietest dog I have ever known. He only barks if there is someone at the door, or if people walk past the house he makes a sort of 'burr' noise! Does anyone know if this is German Shepherd or Shar Pei? I think neither!

He has the intelligence of a German Shepherd. He has his gold certificate for Kennel Class, but his attention span is about 2 minutes long, which I think is the Shar Pei!

He gets very bored and starts jumping around like a nutter, which I think may have something to do with a strange mix of dogs, not being one of the other?

He is the loviest dog I have ever known. He loves every other dog and has never turned on them. Smaller dogs like to bite and attack him and he won't even stand up for himself - he just stands there with them hanging off his neck looking at me for help! I don't know which breed that comes from, again I think it's the strange mix of dogs.

He does have stomach problems and has to eat hypoallergenic food, I have heard this is a trait of the German Shepherd, and he has skin problems, which I have heard is the trait of the Shar Pei, so unfortunately he has got both problems of breeds when it comes to that!
