Hello everybody! We have a new member to the family but are not sure what she is. They said she is a Blue Heeler/Lab mix but we don't think so. My mommy thinks she might be (at least part) Catahoula but that may be wishful thinking on Mommy's part because she loves Catahoulas so much.

Hi Pita!

You have a beautiful brand new little sister! Mommy and I think Bella looks a lot like a catahoula. You could always check her paws too to see if the webbing extends all the way out to the toes, just like what most of us have. But who really cares, Bella seems to have found a wonderful "forever" family. Congrats! happy dance

Thanks CeeCee! We love her no matter what she is but don't want to misrepresent her lineage. She's awfully pretty. She also has a whole bunch of energy! Whew! She tears around like nobody’s business. She wants desperately to catch a bird, squirrel or cat in the backyard. She’s treed a few animals already and stays very focused. She’s a pretty good jumper too. Lucky for us, she has no desire to run away. The best thing is that compared to her shenanigans, I look like a very well-behaved dog. It's all relative!

Hm, kinda looks like one. I myself am from Texas and I know they are prevalent down there!

You could take a Doggie DNA test to see if there's anything else in there. The catahoula isn't supported in the tests, but most of the other popular brands are.

My mom sells dna tests at her store, and there are other more expensive tests that support more breeds.
