OK - I was just watching Nancy Grace on CNN and, go figure, there is a story about a 23 month old child being attacked by the family dog. Anyways, at the begining of the broadcast they began, of coarse, by saying that it was two 'pitbulls' that did the attacking. Then the reporter got word from the Animal Control officers that it was actually a SHEPARD mix that did the attacking and the pittie had NOTHING to do with it. While I do give them kudos for correcting the breed you should have seen the footage they were showing of dogs on the screen - I almost went right through the roof!!!!! All of the footage they were showing was of pitties! Pitties being trained to fight, pitties tied up on HUGE chains, and pitties being RESCUED from their ABUSIVE and NEGLECTFUL so called owners! I did not see ONE breed on that footage other than the pitties! Needless to say...I promptly sent an email to the dear lady and told her - ever so politely - what I though of her and her broadcasting! OK - I'm done. Thanks for listening way to go

Oh my gosh...i was just coming on to right about that! it makes me mad becuase they say that it was a pitbull... but it was not! The whole time the reporters were talking about 'pitbulls', they have pictures and vidios in the background making them look evil or vicious. They showed dogs fighting ang being trained to fight. The lady speecking was a witch! I agreed with the man becuase he said ' there are no bad dogs, only bad owners.' i twas unfortunate that that happend...but i am guessing the supervision was bad. and, mabe the infant triggered a pray instinct in the dog. so sad.....ANY THOUGHTS????

At the beginning they initally said that it was a Pit Bull, then it went to a Pit Bull Mix then the final report came from Animal Control and they said ONE TIME that it was actually a Husky mix that committed the attack and the pit mix had nothing to do with it. But, like we both said...all of the video was of pitties!
Did you see the woman from PETA on there? I wonder where the video came from...

ya....i was a member of peta for awile. Decided that alot of the people were very fake and not there for the right reasins. I was surprised she was not more defensisive of the dogs. People jump to conclusions so quickley. Just becuase there was a pitbull in the residense...they asume it as him. so sad......cry It is still very awful that it happend, but i definatly think it was the owners fault. I just do not see why a dog would attack the baby unless something else was going on.....thinking

Nancy didn't really give her a lot of air time. I was surprised that she didn't defend them more too! I'm sure the only reason she was on there though is because she supplied the video clips cause she only got to say a few words. My guess is that she would only supply the clips if Nancy would give her airtime. No offense intended to anyone who is part of PETA or anything, just my personal opinion.

I very well agree. I think she was kinnda there to promote PETA. Witch is great i guess...but it was not a good time because of the heavy subject. When i strted chatting on the web site.... people were EXTREAMLY EXTREALY judgemental. Towards colar, age, beliefs, vegans, non-vegans, vegatarians, and non vegatarians. Even gay,bi, or lezbians. It would some times turn into something that was not relatable or fun. If you would say one wrong thing.... it seems as if they woulf shut you out.

On the other hand...i did meet very select few who were reat and helped me get through somme hard things.hamster dance

I have no doubt that there are some good people involved in PETA; however, and please don't be offended, I don't think that they have really checked into what their true intentions are. No offense intended or anything. When I first heard of PETA I originally thought 'what a great organization' until I checked quite a bit further into them. I 100% believe that there are very good people with nothing but good intentions involved with PETA. On the other hand I think the organization itself does not have very good intensions - strickly my opinion.
