Let me tell you I think people are very IGNORANT!! Every time my mom or dad take me out for a walk, theres' always a silly person who asks: "Uppps! She looks good, but she is VERY DANGEROUS, isn't she?" or "Oh!!! This is the dog that takes you and kills you?" even worse: "C'mon, be careful!!! This is a KILLER BREED!!!"
Of course, my parents pay no attention to these kind of comments and, if the person deserves "some respect", maybe they give his/her a simple explanation " Well, it depends, you know? Maybe, if Betty doesn't like you, for sure SHE WILL EAT YOU!!!!" ha ha ha haaahha ha!!!laugh out loudlaugh out louddancingconfusedshocksilenced
mmm... Tell me, as a Bull terrier, do these stupid things happen to you, too? ...Or this is just here in Buenos Aires?thinking

I must say, that this has happened to me many many many times on walks! There's always a comment like: "Those dog's will kill you in one bite!" or "Care full, sweety, those dogs get lock jaw!"..has anyone ever proved the existence of lock jaw? I say, stand up for bullies! all they want, is love!! x x x

Yeah we get it too.....most times people call them "Pit Bulls" and I have have to educate them on the differences. Or when I am at the vets office people will give me dirty looks for no reason at all. My dogs have never even curled their lips at another dog.....its usually some yappy little dog that causes the biggest ruckus in there. We currently have two bullies ( 1 male and 1 female) and two pugs ( 1 male and 1 female) the pugs only recently joined our family and the bullies accepted them with no issues what so ever!

Yep, I agree. We get folks looking at us and asking, "Do you ever have problems with your PIT BULL?" Doofuses! They can't tell the difference, even with my glorious egg-shaped head and beautiful sleek body. The folks I like are the ones who instantly grin and say, "Spuds!" or, "Target Dog!" or even, "Hey, there's Patton's dog!" THOSE are the ones who seem to know I'm OK.

ok i can kind of see why ignorant people confuse me with a pitbull as my mum was a bullmastiff and my dad was an english bull terrier so i have a mix of looks from both breeds that can confuse people who don't know bull breeds i know that it took mum ages to find a dog sitter for when she has to go to the hospital for her disability as no one would have me due to the breeds of my pearents but i can't understand why neither can mum as i am a compleate sap and love the company of other dogs mum has also been told by people she shouldn't have a dog like me because i'm a dangarous breed and as she's in a wheelchair she couldn't posible control me when i attack a child or another dog her response is that she grew up with bull breeds and has no problem controling me and i would never attack a child unless provoked even then i tend to just sit there and take it the same go's for other dogs even the other day i just sat there when a husky grabed my nose i did the same last christmas when a labrdor went for me at the village christmas market

Tell me about it!!! I think i need anger management corses when it comes to my 2.......... It makes me wanna scream and shout!!! There was a lady over the park the other day who said that "them Kinda dogs" should have a curew and not be allowed out the same time as kids are leaving school!!! Her little brat was screaming his head off as he was not allowed any sweets, so the only thing that was creating a scene or been annoying over the park was him!!!

I really try and remain calm and just shrug it off as i am aware that they are fantastic, loveable and softies but its like someone insulting your child, and i do struggle at times.

I live in Western Canada where there are no "Breed-Specific" laws yet. Yes, people confuse my BT as a Pit Bull but I don't receive the negative comments. Usually, people are so intrigued by my "funny" shaped head dog, they have to come over & pet him. If I was ever in a situation with negative comments, I would quickly remind them that it is bad owners that create "bad" dogs ... regardless of the breed. People can be so judgemental ...
