Hi guys!!

I have a quick question. I just adopted a weim from a friend who didn't have time for her. I have heard of this raw food diet; and think I may be interested, but have NO clue how to start. Is it even good to start them on this if they have had kibble all their life. She is only 1o months old. I just want her to have the healthiest diet possible. Also, is their like a raw food recipe I should follow? HELP! and thanks for the suggestions in advance!

Well there are all sorts of sites about it. Beofre you start your pup on what they call BARF....you really have to research it ebcause if it is not done correctly, it can be harmful as you can imagine.
I strongly suggest joining this group at...... k9mania.com! It is easy to set up and less complicated them here. There are so many cool people who really know what they are talking about when it some to BARF. Try posting there. wave

I would suggest checking with your vet before you make any changes. Most vets recommend staying with one type of food until they are a year old because of allergies. Not sure about the specifics of why, but it boils down to the fact that if you switch, it can cause allergies to the new and/or old food to develop.

We like Whole Dog Journal - all natural informaiton and raw diet stuff. My mom had my brother & I on it and we really seem to enjoy it, but you should check it out before you make a change to the little one. You'll have so much together, weims are great!!!! We are very cuddly.
