How often do you wash your dog? Any tips for keeping our white babies clean? Gem got a bath a week and a half ago and is already looking pretty dingy.

Also I use Advantix. Does this ever leave a stain? It does for us. I think it is just because it is oily and the dirt tends to stick to it?

Any help keeping my sweet boy clean and white would help!

We use Earthbath Tea Tree Oil and Aloe Vera with the Creme Rinse and Conditioner with colloidal oatmeal once a month. It makes Tiare''s coat glisten and is really gentle.

I've also heard good things about Earthbath's products (they have a shampoo especially for light coated dogs to boot!).

Kreuzer doesn't really have a bathing schedule, basically just whenever he needs it. Between baths though, I'll use a spray bottle or wet rag to spot-clean him, or if the occasion arises, I'll take him for a run around in the rain (avoiding mud of course), which he doesn't mind at all -- even a bit of rain can really refresh his coat!

Sorry I have no input on the advantics as I've never used it before...

We use the advantix it does seem to attract dirt because of the oil but within a few days the dirt is gone. Our dog does keep herself pretty much clean. So we don't have a bathing schedule. Just when she needs it.

Wow. Old post! My mom used to use the Advantix on my sister and I. It wasn't too bad on my coat, but my sister has really long hair around her shoulders and it would turn into a dirty oily mess! She nows gives us Comfortis which is a large pill. I don't like the taste, but it's a lot easier for her than getting the drops of Advantix through my thick fur.
