I dont know if many of you have had the same problem... People trying to tell you what your dog is, what it could possibly be mixed with, why it can't be a true English Springer if its NOT Live/White or Black/White. At first I jumped in and said modestly, "I guess you dont see them too often" thinking that maybe I do have a RARE color! I'm sure all of you who are reading this KNOW that Tri Colored English Springer Spaniels are NOT RARE! People have told me Casey must be mixed with a Cavalier King Charles, or even funnier a Bermese Mountain Dog. "OK, because my 38 pd 7 month old pup is half Bermese Mountain Dog"!!! I've come to the conclusion that people who do this simply know "nadda" about the breed and have probably seen several in there life that they have built standards on. Its a bit irritating though when people shove their beliefs down your throat... I guess thats California for you!

Special Note: colors refered to as Lemon, Red, Roan, etc. can be classified as RARE, BUT they are not inclusive of the AKC standard and will not be accepted as possibly show dogs. Be weary of breeders who claim to have these RARE, and MAGNIFICENT colors as they are sometimes lures to attract those unaware of the breed standard. After all its a coat color, they're still crazy bird watching dogs that love to roll in mud, water, sand, whatever! Love them!

Nope, tri is not rare. I cant stand breeders that try and sell them for more because they are somehow worth more. Uhh, no.
