We have intentionally started this group 1 year to the day the 1st recall was issued. My dear furriend & co admin Tabby died 4 days before the recall came out. The food she was eating was not recalled till April 10th! The food that killed me was not recalled till April 5th.
As of today we still have no answers; no apologies; nothing. This needs to change. Yes we are animals & maybe we can't sue these corporations; but we can do something!!!!! We need to do something!

My mommy and daddy had to help me to the Bridge 10 days before the recalls started. After the recalls started, mommy called our vet to ask him what he thought about me and the recalls. He said he thought of me when he first heard about them. He had cried with mommy and daddy as I was leaving for the Bridge.

Yep, it's true - I was checking out some old links today and I came across some of the press releases from last year. I couldn't remember exactly when Nutro Max Cat cans were recalled, so I looked.

They were recalled on April 10th - almost a month after I died!

In the meantime, mom continued to feed my brother, Tucker, AND her new kitten at the time, Tessie, the food that would later be recalled! This means that they could have had the same fate as me. Thank Cat that they did not.

My furriends, something needs to change to make sure this never happens again. Nothing can be done to give us back to our families, but we need to ensure that we did not die in vain!

To my dear furriend, TC - I am honored to be the co-admin in this group.

To all - this is your group to vent, to cry, to laugh, to share your stories!

Thanks Tabby & T.C. for starting this group. It is sad that any of us have to be here and were victims of this horrendous incident. What is scary is that we still don't know that the kitties and doggies are really and truly safe yet today. I feel sorry for our humans who have the task of trying to find a good food for their fur babies; one that they do not have to worry about. It just shouldn't have to be like that!
(This is just Meowmy's thoughts) but she is wondering, just how safe is the human food too? With all the recalls on human food, it is quite unnerving.
