Small Dog Park invaded by big dogs. What to do?

Do any of you go to the small dog park only to find the big dogs have taken it over? Our small dog park side is nicer than the big dog side because it still has grass and we're not as rough on it, but now that the big dog side is all muddy they are coming into our part and tearing it up. It's not fair and I don't know what to do. If there are big dogs there when we get there we just don't go in because it's not safe. When they rough house they could break my legs! Any suggestions?!
