And a new person totaly addicted to Rally.

Howie and I started training a little almost two months ago. We competed in our first tial on Feb. 9th and earned two legs that weekend. Then we went to our home kennel club's show today and earned our last leg also netting a first place. In our three times in the ring Howie has place second, Third, and today first. With scores of 95, 96, and 94. Not bad.
I learned something important today though. I had two dogs entered in the same class with no dogs in between. The steward offered to split them up and I agreed. They moved my girl Wonder up and told me she would compete second in the class and Howie would remain in his assined spot. Sounded good to me. Only thing was it didn't occure to me to check and see how many dogs would be between my Wonder puppy and Howie. It turned out it was only one. I had hardly enough time to give Wonder a cookie and put her in a crate before they were calling Howie's number to be in the ring. Poor Howie had no time to check in mentally and figure out what exactly was going on before we were off and running on the course. The result was pretty sad by Howie standards but hey he still got a 94 and he first place so I guess I can't complain. Lesson learned though! I will be paying close attention this weekend in pensacola to see the exact number of dog's between us and plan accordingly.
