Caller Times article

I saw this on Craigslist and thought I'd post here just so we can stay informed. The comments are "interesting" to say the least. I think it would be neat but we definitely need regulation of some sort.

My tail can't stop wagging since this article came out. snoopy Hopefully this comes through. I have been to several dog parks in the nation and they seem to work fine there. People in Corpus Christi can make it work. We can see what rules and problems arose in those other cities and impliment them accordinly.

In some cities they have a group of citizens that become 'trustees' of the park by donating $25 each, a year to it. This money goes towards fundraising and park improvement and maintenance. My mom would definitely give that much and more for me to have a safe place to run around and play with other pups.

Ooh, I hope this happens - has anyone seen any recent news about it?

We've never been to a dog park before but I love the off-leash idea (as long as it's well-regulated). I've been browsing the websites of Houston dog park associations and wishing.

Chess is still in puppy kindergarten and working on his social manners, but once we have the basic obedience skills I'd love to have a local dog park to try out. I know he would particularly love a swimming area!

This is the last article I can find about it and it's from March

click

If you scroll to Corpus on this site, it seems like there is someone to contact about it.

I dont have a whole lot of hopes of this happening for years. Even my rural hick town way back home (with a tiny population) is getting one set up. Come on, Corpus! laugh out loud

Welcome to the group, Chester! What is your favorite beach to go to?

Cool, thank you for the links and the welcome! big grin

So far we've only visited the "sea walk" near Cole Park that has little mini-beach areas and jetty rocks to splash amongst, lol. But the Padre Island beaches are next on our agenda.

I hope the intended park will come through eventually. We haven't had any luck finding even puppy playgroups in Corpus, which surprised me!

That's the only one I've been to as well! I just dont like going down there since it's so crowded. I'm just a rural person red face

As far as meetups, I know if you search on http://meetup.com for 'dogs' in the corpus area, there are people interested in getting together. However, I dont know where or how we would do it! I was hoping someone with a huge yard would volunteer to have doggy playdates. Let us know if you hear of anything else.
