Hello everyone I would like to foster a male dog but im having trouble and would like your help I have a 10 month old puppy hes a pure bread mini schnauzer who is soon to be a show dog so he is not fixed and all the rescue places are telling me no I cant foster because of this I am hopping one of you guys can help me spread the word that im looking to help i keep sending email to rescue groups that say they are in desperate need of fosters and if they cant find any they will start putting dogs down and I still get the same response because my dog is not fixed you cant foster I think its really sad that a group will kill a dog instead of giving me a chance to foster we have the time, money and a safe fun home to share

thanks for reading and for any help

Hi there. Sorry to hear you are having a hard time finding a rescue group to foster with. Im with a rescue group located out of Bay City, Few Steps From Home Rescue. Unfortunitly we also feel the same way about your situation. We do not allow foster homes with other dogs not to be spayed or neutered. It is just too much of a risk. I know you will only foster males, but it honestly doesnt make the rescue group look good. Most rescue groups are trying to stop breeding and really push spay or neutering. Then to let a rescued animal go into a foster home where there own animals are not spayed or neutered just isnt right. Im glad you want to help with animals in need. There needs to be more out there. Its honestly up to you whats more important helping animals in need or breeding and showing dogs.

I can't foster right now because of a renting situation, but I received this email from the Small Paws & Poms Rescue in Indiana that I thought was really cool:

"Fostering is great, but transports, phone calls, so many other things all help ALOT. So do what you can and do not feel badly that you are unable to foster for now. Sometimes offering to relief baby-sit for a foster or rescue is nice. We had a woman once come run our home when we had to go to Mayo Clinic for my husbands cancer. I cannot tell you how huge that was! And once a lady spent a whole day here just poop scooping the yard and stripping all the dog bed and cleaning the kennels! You have no idea what all the help you can be!"

So even though you can't foster right now, you can still donate money, food, supplies, and your time that will do so much good. big grin

so I had to take fostering into my own hand someone in flint put a dog on cheep cycle a yahoo group where you sell things you dont want any more well i talked to the lady told her i was going to find the dog a home and she just gave him to me well Stewart turned out to be a great dog we picked him up saturday and tomorrow he is going to a new home when i rescued him he had a tape worm and 2 ear infections and a bad coat we gave him a bath and trimmed him up before we brought him home and he all ready looked 10 times better the vet treated the tape worm and gave us ear med and his ears look great he is all ready fixed and crate trained and house broken so for my first foster this was a good one and I also email about 15 rescues to help me put him on petfinder and so many wanted to help but i think i found one that i will work with

Just be careful if you take in a female dog!
