I know you are all responsible Lab owners.....but I had to send this message out just in case. While we were on vacation a few weeks ago Shiloh was seriously injured. Shiloh finally came home, after 15 days in the hospital, and a surgery to put four pins and a metal plate in her paw. Our bill was $7,000 dollars!!! That was with a $2,000 discount. But it doesnt include the $1,000 we will have to spend in 6 months to remove the pins, $35 cast changes every three days for 6 weeks, physical therapy costs and the $350 we spent to fly home early!!
As I sit here selling everything I can on ebay and craigslist....I wish I wouldnt have been such a researcher and just bought pet insurance when I first heard about it and done the research later (changed companies if I needed to). I now have Pets Best insurance, my vet recommended it.....my friend has VPI insurance and seems to like that one. too. I pay 22.45 a month.
Thanks for listening!!!
I hope Shiloh heals up ok. I too wish I had pet insurance. We always seem to go too little too late. Graycee, had a UTI when she was four months to 10 months. We went from vet to vet, test after test, changed food many times. Had ultra sounds done. Finally I found someone to help her. She's on prescription food for the rest of her life, but she's doing great. The point is it cost me a fortune and I'll be paying off the credit card for a while.
