Hello there,
Does anyone think it's a good idea for me to stay in a crate while my people are out of the house? So far, I haven't displayed any destructive behavior, but my people are not sure they trust me when they are gone.

Hi, I stay in my kennel all the time when my people are gone and I love it! I even choose to spend about 1/4 of my night in it even though I am allowed on their bed and I have my own bed on the floor. Try it out, you might like having this as something that is "only my space". ~Haley

PS -- Beware, I am also in my kennel because there are times I am scared to be alone so I shred any paper products around. Oh and I am smart enough I figure out how to get out of my kennel by myself. But my darn parents are smarter and rigged this up so it can't happen again.

Thanks for the response. My dad decided that he didn't like to see me in the kennel because I looked so sad. I don't have to stay locked up when they are gone and so far I haven't caused any trouble. They just close the bedroom and office doors just to be safe. Sometimes at night I will sleep in the kennel but the door is never shut.
