Hi everyone, Im the Newbie to the group. Tho my chow recently cross the rainbow bridge, He is still a huge part of my life. A day does not go by that I do not think of the big brute.

A little About Samson.

My husband and I, and our girls, Where on our way out of walmart when a older man followed us to our car, Very creepy, He asked us if we where intrested ina chow puppy. He said the dog wasnt allowed where he lived and that he wanted the dog to have a real family. At this point I was ready to walk away but my husband turned to me and begged me to get it. He was raised with chows and loved them dearly. So we went home that day with a 4months old black chowchow. Over the weeks I warmed up to him. By the end of December of 2006 Samson was one of my kids. He was such a wonderful dog, EVERYTHING you could ask for in the breed. *Giggles* When my husband would cause me to become upset Samson would go into our bed room and pee on his side of the bed and hide his work boots. I swear he could understand everything that was going on and the way he reacted to things told you he had a sence of humor. Things where wonderful. Samson was a huge part of our family and my late night protector. One night while my husband was at work a man broke into our apartment bent on rape. God bless my chow . When the man came into my room Sammy knew it wasn't greg snecking in. As I woke up I saw Samson leap from my bed and attack. By the time I had gather my wits Samson had the man by the throat and wasn't moving. When the police came they where shocked as I was. Samson had tore the attackers thum and index fingure off his left hand. He was my night in shinning armor. that day forward. After that we decided to move back to my home town. Months past and Samson was great, Best Nanny/Friend I could ask for. August 9th, My 22nd birthday, We decided to go swimming. While at the lake My Night in shinning armor had a heat stroke. We rushed him to the vet but saddly it was to late, That was the day my life changed. To this day I can not speak about my angel with out crying. Since then Our life has moved on but never forgot. Samson died at one year of age, But he gave years and years of future joy for me.cry

Oh, I can see that Samson was so precious to you and your family. May your hero rest in peace and live on in your memory and love forever.

A chow chow is more than a dog - they are companion, body guard, friend, and member of the family. They are there to love, pet, hug, enjoy, laugh with, run with, celebrate with, and dream with.

He or she or has loved a chow chow is a different person, and he that has been a chow chow's person is a blessed person.
