What is the attitude around the world about tail docking these days? In Finland, where I live for a few months more it's not legal anymore, but as we're moving to Australia the topic pops up again. In Australia it is allowed in some states, and in some it is not. I'm dreaming of breeding in Australia, but would not want to dock my puppies tails. Is it a huge burden to have at dog shows in countries that still dock? To me the fieldie tail is so unbelievably beautiful especially on males that usually have thick and long coat that it's a shame to dock it. My first fieldie was docked, and she never complained, but still. smile

A great person to talk to would be Sarah Evans (you can find her on the FSSA website in Maryland). She has pioneered NOT docking tails in the USA. She actually helped get the breed standard changed.
Cliodhna doesn't have her tail docked and I love it!!! You shouldn't feel pressured to dock...it might be harder to show and win but it's worth it!!!!
