 | | | | Hello all puppy cuties! We are having a new Thanksgiving Recipe Exchange!! You just need to post any Thanksgiving Recipe here!! It can be a dessert, dinner recipe, drink, or even dog treats!! Here is a recipe for dogs that I thought sounded good.
Oatmeal Peach Cookies
4 cups quick-cooking rolled oats
1 1/2 cups water, divided
1/2 cup chopped peeled peaches, thawed if frozen
2 tbsp canola oil
2 tbsp blackstrap molasses
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350 F (180 C). In a large bowl, soak oats in 11/8 cups (275 mL) water for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, in food processor, combine peaches, 1/4 cup water, oil, molasses and vanilla. Puree until smooth. Stir into oat mixture along with remaining water, oil, flour and cinnamon until well incorporated. In the bowl and using hands, knead until dough holds together. Transfer to lightly floured surface. Using a rolling pin, roll out dough to about 1/16 inch (2 mm) thickness. With a fork, poke holes all over the surface of the dough. Using a pizza cutter or a sharp knife, cut dough into bite-size rectangles or squares. Place about 1/2 inch (1 cm) apart on baking sheets. Bake in preheated oven, in batches if necessary, for 16 minutes or until firm. Place pans on racks and let cool completely. Reduce oven temperature to 300 F (150 C). Bake for 20 minutes longer or until hard. Transfer cookies to a rack and let cool completely.
Recipe Notes:
Store in tightly container for up to 30 days. Makes about 1 1/2 lbs. (750 g.) of cookies.
Now it's your turn to share some of your Thanksgiving recipes.
