However, we live in Central America, and work with and support one , if not the only, sanctuary/shelters here. Many travelers come to visit us or to volunteer for a bit and a surprising number take a dog home. Our star alumna (a pure bred street dog who had been hacked with a machete and left to die) now lives in Paris, has a designer jacket, travels in a private rail carriage to Venice where she has the run of a palace on the Grand Canal.
