Who wouldn't love Lassie - such a cool and wonderful dog! Collies ROCK and Lassie Rocks them all! Any other Lassie fans from Canada in this group?

I'm not fron Canada. I'm from Georgia!smile We LOVE Lassie. Lassie is partly why our mistress likes Collie so much. She got a book about Collies from the Library, and in the back it have lassie.net listed. Mistress went there, saw a link to another lassie website, then on there we saw a link to an awesome breeder-Chelsea Collies. Chelsea Collies has info pages (and a Lassie page), and after reading the page about Collies-mistress was hooked on 'em! That was two years ago. She hasn't changedher mind since! (Mistress loves Collies so much, in fact, that she wants to help improve the breed by breeding them (and Shelties too)!)dog

Our mum likes the Chelsea collie page too - really beautiful! BUT our mum doesn't want to breed collies - she use to breed whippets, but now she says theres so many dogs in rescue, she just doesn't feel right breeding anymore. Lassie.com is the Official Lassie site - there's a lot of controversy on the Lassie.net site. Our mum really loves the Weatherwax Trained Dogs site - that's where the REAL Lassie and trainer are - it's so cool! If you search for that site, you'll find it and you'll love all the cool photos of the Real Lassie!

Everyone is intitled to their own opinion, but I think that it's okay to breed dofs-as long as you do things right. Think about it: the dogs from good breeders have less problems because the breeders started out right. Not that rescue dogs are bad-my mistress got me from the pound and I am one of the best dogs she has owned so far. Just had a couple of behavbior problems at first-raiding the kitchen table @ night for one. But I think that anything out of the ordinary mistress should know about. I think that buying a dog from a shelter, rescue group, or reputasble breeder is one step toward the ruin of puppy mills. Not that puppy mills will ever be completely gone.
