Does anyone here have a very sensitive stomach? My mommy has to feed me a special food and be very careful about the treats she gives me because everything upsets my stomach. My mom is worried about me but has heard that we tend to grow out of this problem as we get older. Can anyone help with any information?

Hi Maggie, I personally do not have the stomach problems, but our mix breed Samson does. He is now 5 and has not grown out of it. The doctor even said he probably had colitis but we can keep it in line with his diet. We switched all three of us dogs to Purina Lamb and Rice forumla for sensitive stomachs and also each morning we all get cooked minute rice (mom makes it by the batch and keeps in the fridge) and for me it's three heaping tablespoons and one heaping tablespoon of plain low fat yogurt (per dr. instructions) I am picky and would not eat it for dad and she told him it had to be stirred up like rice pudding (duh laugh out loud and then I would eat it. Check with your doctor but this is working for Sam and mom figured if it was good for him, we'd just head off any problems with the rest of us. Also he never gets table food, just sends his stomach into a tizzy! Good Luck.

Lennon has a very sensitive tummy. He can't eat any wet food, or chewy treats or he vomits constantly. He does very well with the Eukanuba adult small breed dry food, and just basic milkbone treats or rawhides. Although, sometimes the rawhides can upset his tummy as well. Smaller dogs tend to have more sensitive digestive tracks. Cooked white rice is always a good way to settle it down a little bit when it's acting up.

Wow! Daisy is a TFT/Chihuahua mix and has had stomach problems since I adopted her. I didn't know that was a TFT thing! I finally found a food she can eat (and we have been through many!) - Wellness Venison - she can eat the wet and the dry with no problems. Thank you so much!

I just got my puppy today. He is 5 months old. Im not sure about daily life yet but we drove an hour home from getting him and he threw up twice since we got here. Nothing in the car, thank goodness. The previous owner gave us the rest of his food and its DOG food, not puppy.. I plan to switch him over, maybe that will help.

Noah seems to have a sensitive stomach sometimes too. Be careful with rawhides too. Noah ate too much of one and it made him VERY sick, we had to take him to the vet and get fluids pumped into him. Just a word of caution!
